Cognitive Dissonance and a Belief in a Collective Delusion;
At the root of today's trouble is the lust for power and money, and the insufficient checks and balances in our society that should have prevented the abuse of this power. Government is all about power setting the course for our country and its people. A government is responsible for all its people, and with a democracy the people supposedly have a say in who their government actually is. Governments use their power to obtain money in support of their country, usually through taxes. You will have noticed the continuing push for and recent dissolution of certain government programs and the subsequent privatization of these services. Particularly in the prosecution of the War in Iraq, where there are more contractors than soldiers. (http://current.com/items/89193891_use_of_iraq_contractors... ) This is the most obvious tip of a conspiracy to divert public resources into private hands.

Corporations, are all about money. A corporation only has to answer to its shareholders, and its only purpose is to make money for them. The problem is that through the use of money, power can be gained. With enough money corporations can influence Government policy and lawmaking to ends that only benefit them, to the detriment of society at large. The BUSH/Cheney/McCain camp have done very well at this game.

It's called the American Dream because these days it can only be achieved if you're sleeping. For THEM to get away with what they're doing now you'd have to be Wide Awake in Dreamland!

We all thought that Capitalism went hand in hand with Democracy. Well, that's obviously not true. The Chinese believe in their government and themselves. They are on the uphill side of the curve.

The Olympics are the best PR tool I have ever seen. Meanwhile there are other things to consider these days.

US Must Share Power In New World Order is the message coming from all over and we are powerless to offer any resistance to it.

I have slowly been coming to the conclusion that human world history is meaningless and that modern society is based mostly on the acquisition and distribution of energy. HVAC and the Automobile rule the world. The US with 4% of the global population uses 85% of the petroleum, costing us about 1/2 trillion per year that we can no longer afford. Politics are nothing next to energy economics and as Cash Determines your societal position Race fades into the background. Black Obama is all but meaningless from a practical standpoint. Welcome to the new world order. Having watched crude swell up to 147 per barrel this week and then slide back to 113 a day later I can't help but admire the obscenely wealthy dudes who are playing with our heads and manipulating the market in this way. It's a Global sea change, a cataclysmic Shift my brothers and sisters and nothing will ever be the same.

Businessman, Meevio Executive, Pilot, Globetrotter, CTO, Radio Host, Hydrogen Fuel Proponent and Family Man Adam Curry, The former MTV Veejay and now Podfather, has been crying out for all of us to awaken from the deception. On his August 13th show, The Daily Source Code,(Curry.com) Adam continues his rant against the machine stating that Russia is only protecting it's own domestic interests in Georgia. It's all about the OIL !!! Curry says. He then adds that Georgia attacked first shedding some 5000 innocent lives. Further that US encouragement and private security consultants (Blackwater) are heavilly involved in trying to alienate Georgia from its former Soviet masters. I agree with him that you should look at a map so that you are able to locate Georgia geographically. Once having accomplished that many things will become clear to you. It strikes me that the conflict is not dissimilar from The United States attacking Iraq! What do you say about Putin's soul now Mr. Bush? Is it apparent that your administrations Diplomatic skills are NOT up to snuff?

This is important, because China relies on West Africa for more than 30% of it’s oil imports and an even more significant percentage of minerals.
